Gusty winds to cool down heatwave in plain areas

Mainly very hot and dry weather is expected in most plain areas on Saturday (today) and gusty winds are likely in central/southern Punjab and lower Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

The weather office forecasted rain-wind/thunderstorm in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit Baltistan, Kashmir, Islamabad and Potohar region and upper Punjab in the afternoon.

A shallow westerly wave is present over western/upper parts of the country and may persist in upper parts for next few days.

The weather will remain hot and dry in Lahore, Islamabad, Bhakkar, Dera Ghazi Khan, Faisalabad.

The Air Quality Index in Lahore was recorded at 160 points.

On Friday, weather remained hot and dry in most parts of the country, while very hot in plain areas. However, rain occurred at a few places in upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit Baltistan, Kashmir and Murree.

Friday's Highest Maximum Temperature (°C): Sibbi 48, Nokkundi 47, Dadu, Jhelum, Jacobabad and D.I.Khan 46.
