Govt not to issue passports to Pakistanis who sought asylum abroad

Keeping in view the national security, the Ministry of Interior has decided not to issue passports to Pakistanis who had sought asylum in other countries, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
According to a notification issued by the ministry in Islamabad on Tuesday, all such Pakistani nationals who would seek asylum on any grounds in other countries will not be able to get Pakistani passports.
According to sources, passports of all such Pakistanis will be cancelled and they will also not be renewed.
The Director General Passports issued a formal notification in this regard.
The notification was issued by the ministry on the directive of Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi.
Copies have also been sent to the Foreign Ministry and all other concerned officials.
