Taking disciplinary action against members of the Sindh Assembly belonging to Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI), who had ditched their party and voted for the opponents’ candidates in the recent Senate elections, the PTI on Thursday ordered the expulsion of two of its members from the party, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

PTI’s disciplinary committee stripped Aslam Abro from PS-I Jacobabad-I and Shehryar Khan Shar from PS-18 Ghotki-I off their basic membership on account of deviating from the party policy.

The committee also recommended to the party’s high command to approach the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) so that these two turncoats could also be stripped off their membership of the Sindh Assembly.

According to the committee, both these party dissidents were provided an opportunity to defend themselves, and it was only on the basis of scrutiny of irrefutable evidence and the inability of both Abro and Shar to justify their actions that the decision was taken.

It said both these MPAs had one-week time to appeal this decision.

A day before the Senate elections, Aslam Abro had said that he would vote for Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) candidates in the Senate elections.

In an interview with 24NewsHD TV channel, Aslam Abro dispelled the impression that any of the party’s members was kidnapped by PPP.

He said that there was no pressure on the party dissidents from any side. “We belong to interior Sindh. We are only afraid of Allah (The Almighty).”

He said his and other PTI members’ constituencies were neglected and that’s why they all were unhappy with the party leadership. He said Prime Minister Imran Khan was being kept in the dark about the party’s problems in interior Sindh, and that was the root cause of all the problems.
