ECP cancels staff’s holidays for upcoming elections

The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has cancelled all weekly and official vocations of the staff to complete the overall arrangements for the provincial general elections 2023 on time. 

According to a notification issued by the Election Commission of Pakistan issued on March 11 saying that federal secretariat, Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (PK) election commission offices shall remain open on Saturdays and Sundays due to the forthcoming provincial general elections 2023 with immediate effect. 

It directed that the Elections Wing, Admn Wing, IT Wing, and MCO Wing of the center, Punjab and KP provinces shall remain open on Saturday and Sunday in the coming days till further order.

According to the sources, the decision has been taken to reduce the burden of work and complete the process for the upcoming elections within the due limit of time. They said that along with specific vacations, the Election Commission would not allow the employees to enjoy weekly holidays up to the upcoming general elections.
