Quetta Gladiators won the toss and decided to field first against Multan Sultans in the 28th match of the Pakistan Super League 8 at Pindi Cricket Stadium.
Muhammad Nawaz is again leading Quetta as Sarfaraz failed to recover from his in jury for the last match of the sound stage.
A confident Multan Sultans team led by Mohammad Rizwan will play the match with confidence as they had already qualified for the playoffs after outclassing Peshawar Zalmi on Friday.
Multan Sultans are ranked in third place on the points table after winning five matches out of the nine they had played so far. Peshawar Zalmi miserably failed to defend a massive 240-run total as the Sultans surpassed the target by four wickets and stormed into the PSL8 playoffs. The thriller was watched by another full house at the Pindi Cricket Stadium on Friday.

Rilee Rossouw hit the fastest PSL century off 41 balls, improving his own record by two balls, and Kieron Pollard blasted a 25-ball 52 as Multan Sultans achieved the 243-run target with five balls to spare. Multan Sultans needed 18 off two overs and three runs in the last over.
On the other hand, Quetta Gladiators seemed under pressure as they had won only three out of their nine matches. However, Quetta would attempt to make a comeback in today’s match in a bid to qualify for the next round. Quetta also achieved the biggest run chase in PSL history when Jason Roy’s unbeaten 145 led them to successfully achieve a target of 243 runs against Peshawar Zalmi in the previous match.

Quetta Gladiators are currently in the fifth spot on the points table with six points after nine games; however, despite the dismal odds, the side still has a chance to qualify for the playoffs of the ongoing eighth season of the Pakistan Super League (PSL).
The Gladiators must win this last league-stage match against Multan Sultans by a big margin, in order to qualify for the next round of the tournament.
They also need Islamabad United to trump Peshawar Zalmi by a significant margin on Sunday, since the Babar Azam-led Zalmi can qualify for the playoffs even if they lose their Sunday match by a close margin.
The Gladiators need an uptick of approximately 100 runs in their favour from the aforementioned games.
