Over dozen PTI workers held as party protests poll rigging

Police in Lahore came down hard on the PTI leaders and workers protesting against rigging in the February 8 general elections at GPO Chowk at The Mall on Sunday and took over 10 of them into custody, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Police bundled PTI leaders, including Hafiz Farhat Abbas and Lal Badshah Advocate, into their van and left.
The rally had reached the GPO Chowk under the leadership of Ali Ijaz Butter when police first baton-charged them, and later picked them up and took them to police station.
Police also smashed a vehicle parked at the site of the protest.
Former prime minister and ex-PTI chairman Imran Khan had yesterday given call for countrywide protest against rigging in the polls.
Several arrested in Rawalpindi
Similarly, police manning a checkpost on Old Airport Road in Rawalpindi arrested several PTI workers while several others managed to escape from the spot.
