The names of three senior officers are being considered for the appointment of one of them as the spokesperson for the Foreign Office, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Friday.

According to the official sources, the name of Mumtaz Baloch, Additional Foreign Secretary for Southeast Asia and Pacific, tops the list.

Mudassar Tipu, Additional Foreign Secretary for USA, and Kamran Mujahid, DG Disarmament, are also being considered for the post.

The post of the spokesperson for the foreign office has been lying vacant since the appointment of Asim Iftikhar Ahmed as ambassador to France.
