Secured 20th bail, 66 more to go, says Sheikh Rashid

Former interior minister and Awami Muslim League (AML) chief Sheikh Rashid Ahmad has said that he has secured 20th bail from the court but still 66 more cases have been lodged against him, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Talking to newsmen outside district and sessions court in Islamabad on Saturday, Sheikh Rashid said he has today obtained bail in connection with a case registered at Kohisar Police Station. “This is the 20th case in which I get a bail and I have heard that there are 66 more cases lodged against me,” the former interior minister added.
He further said he did not have so much guarantors to secure more bails. “I am 73 years old but there are 86 cases against me. I request the high-ups to let go the innocent,” he added.
Meanwhile, Sheikh Rashid approached District and Sessions Courts seejubg bail in the 9th May riots case, filed in Kohisar police station.
The petition was filed by Sardar Abdul Razaq Advocate, arguing that his client was not named in any of the cases filed against PTI workers.
He has nothing to do with the incident and is being implicated without any basis, the lawyer said and added “I believe in the enforcement of the law.”
He requested the court that bail should be granted till the case is decided.
