Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid Ahmad has said that the civil-military relations are well on track and warned the Pakistan Democratic Movement leaders against any misadventure that might prove calamitous for the alliance itself, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Talking to a presser in Islamabad on Monday, the interior minister showed his optimism that the government of Prime Minister Imran Khan would complete its 5-year term.
On PDM meeting today, Mr Ahmad cautioned that the movement should be careful lest it should feel the heat of its own action.
On a question regarding civil-military relations, the minister said he could not give any official statement on the subject but could confirm that the relationship was amicable. He was of the view that postings and transfers in the military were a routine affair.
He revealed that the government had decided to conduct audit of five companies which are involved in the dollar business. As many as 88 people have been arrested for hoarding dollars, he said adding that 47 were rounded up in money laundering cases.
The interior minister stated that if dollars were being transferred to Afghanistan illegally, then Customs department must take note of it and start investigations into dollars’ flight.
Mr Ahmad informed that an Afghanistan desk would be set up at the PM Office and Interior Ministry would also be a part of it.
He explained that the Customs Department did not come under the Interior Ministry. His ministry’s job is only to check the holding of dollar, he added.
He told the media persons that he had ordered action against fake Covid-19 vaccination.
