Crackdown against sugar, rice hoarders in Rawalpindi division, several arrested

A large-scale operation against the hoarding of sugar and rice was started by the Rawalpindi administration in different parts of the division.
According to the 24News HD TV channel, the authorities arrested several hoarders, sealed their godowns and confiscated thousands of kilograms of sugar and rice.
The channel report said the Rawalpindi administration also imposed hefty fines on the violators.
As per the details, two godowns in Rawalpindi city were raided and sealed by AC City and thousands of stored sugar were recovered.
In Chakwal and Talagang, the district administration launched a similar operation and recovered a large quantity of stored sugar from various godowns.
A godown belonging to a person named Abdul Waheed, Haq Traders, Tala Gang Road, Chakwal, was raided and 174,550 kg of sugar was recovered.
More than 50,000 kg of stored sugar was recovered by the district administration from Rahmal Ali's godown in Banjara Talagang.
Similarly, 25,000 kg of stored sugar was recovered from a warehouse named Sadiqabad Lawah Tala Gang while 15,000 kg of sugar stored in the Irfan Godown Pajnand Tala Gang was also recovered by the administration.
The Rawalpindi administration said that the operation against hoarding of essential commodities will continue and no one will be allowed to create artificial shortage in the market.
