A 50-hectare plot of land has been put aside in the Paris region for the construction of a potential new home for Paris Saint-Germain, local authorities said on Wednesday.
The club's owners have been frustrated in their struggle to purchase their current ground, the Parc des Princes.
But Paris mayor Anne Hidalgo has refused to sell the municipally-owned stadium.
The Ile-de-France regional authorities, led by Valerie Pecresse, voted on Wednesday that a parcel of land would be earmarked for the club.
PSG have a deal to keep playing at the Parc des Princes until 2043.
