A meeting of government spokespersons held with Prime Minister Imran Khan in the chair, 24NewsHD TV Channel reported on Thursday.
According to sources, the meeting was briefed about the issue of Afghanistan in wake of the US pullout plan. The insiders quoted the PM as saying that Islamabad just wants Kabul to have peace restored as a prosperous Afghanistan is in the best interest of Pakistan.
He questioned as to why Pakistan has been dragged into the Afghan issue when the US spent $1,000b on the war in Afghanistan. He made it clear that Pakistan has nothing to do with it as America declared the war and it trained the Afghan forces.
The premier said Pakistan can't afford war and Islamabad has has no favourite in Afghanistan . The government will just back the local leadership in Kabul, the premier said adding that the decision of Afghan will pave way for a permanent solution to the problems in Afghanistan.
The Islamabad did fencing along Pak-Afghan border and the mission has been accomplished, the prime minister stressed.
