Lahore Camp Jail inmates keep dying mysteriously as two more perish

The prisoners incarcerated in Lahore’s Camp Jail keep dying mysteriously as two more inmates succumbed to their ‘ailments’ on Sunday making the toll of the dead to six in 12 days, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Reportedly, accused Sarfraz who was arrested in a theft case died in the Services Hospital. According to police, the condition of Sarfraz, resident of Kot Radha Kishan, was deteriorated suddenly and police took him to the hospital where he expired.
Another accused Abdus Salam who was held in dacoity incident also died in the Services Hospital.
Police informed that Abdus Salam who was resident of Dipalpur received head injury and was admitted to the hospital. He remained in the hospital for ten days but could not survive and died today.
On Saturday, another prisoner Akbar who was 53 years old and was serving his term in the Camp Jail died in the hospital. Jail authorities said the condition of Akbar got worsened in the jail and he was shifted to a hospital where he breathed his last. The jail authorities said that Akbar was suffering from cancer.
The total number of prisoners who died this year in the Camp Jail has reached 47.
