The leaders of Pakistan Muslim League (N) and Pakistan People’s Party met at Bilawal House in Lahore on Sunday and agreed to cooperate politically to bring the country to political stability, reported 24newsHD TV channel.


The meeting was attended by President PPPP Asif Ali Zardari, Chairman PPP Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and former Prime Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif, along with other senior members of both parties.


According to a joint statement issued after the meeting, the leaders discussed the overall situation of the country and the future prospects of political cooperation in detail. They agreed in principle to save the country from political instability and to respect the mandate of the people.


Reflecting a spirit of consensus-building, the leaders acknowledged the importance of establishing a framework for sustained political cooperation between the Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz and Pakistan People’s Party, laying the groundwork for a stronger, more united approach to addressing the challenges facing the nation.


Key points of discussion included the assessment of Pakistan's overall situation, deliberations on future political strategies, and the exchange of recommendations aimed at promoting stability and progress across the board.


Both parties affirmed their dedication to steering Pakistan away from political instability and towards a path of prosperity and resilience. Emphasizing the mandate bestowed upon them by the majority of the people, the leaders underscored their unwavering commitment to fulfilling the aspirations of the people and ensuring their voices are heard and heeded.


They also consulted on various issues and proposals, which will be presented by the PPP leadership in the Central Executive Committee meeting.


The leaders expressed their determination to not disappoint the people and to work together for the betterment of the country.


They said that both parties have a history of struggle for democracy and will continue to play their role in strengthening the democratic system.


The PML-N delegation includes Azam Nazir Tarar, Ayaz Sadiq, Ahsan Iqbal, Rana Tanveer, Khawaja Saad Rafiq, Malik Ahmad Khan, Maryam Aurangzeb and Shiza Fatima.
