Sanjrani, Sanaullah Zehri, Jam Kamal, Aslam Raisani in race for Balochistan CM slot

As the dust is settling after general electiuons 2024, the battle for the new chief minister of Balochistan is picking up pace with some of the top names of the province in the line, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Monday.

Names of Sanaullah Zehri from the PPP, Jam Kamal Khan from the PML-N, Nawab Aslam Raisani from the JUI-F and Senate Chairman Sadiq Sanjrani from BAP are among the prominent candidates vying for this coveted provincial post.

The question of which political party will be at the top in Balochistan awaits a definitive answer as negotiations and alliances continue to unfold.

For the role of chief minister in Balochistan, few notable figures from the respective parties have emerged as strong contenders.

PPP, PML-N, and JUI-F are set to join forces in a coalition government in Balochistan. However, optimism within the PML-N is directed towards incorporating independent members into their fold.

Six newly-elected independent members of the Balochistan Assembly are being approached by various political parties to woo them into their ranks.

Sarfraz Bugti denies reports

Former caretaker interior minister Sarfraz Bugti has denied reports that he is being made chief minister of Balochistan.

He said on Monday that such reports were just rumours and there was nothing concrete in it. “Nothing is confirmed yet,” he added.

He, however, made it clear that he will try to do his best if his party assigned any role to him. “Talks with political parties are going on to form a new government in the province,” he added.
