President Dr Arif Alvi in a bid to promote trade diplomacy has decided to send Pakistani mangoes as gifts to heads of the state of 17 friendly countries, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Sunday, quoting its sources.
Aviation Division has sent a letter to Civil Aviation director-general with instructions for taking appropriate steps to send gifts of special Pakistani mangoes to the heads of state of 17 friendly countries of Pakistan, the sources maintained.
“The gift of special mangoes will be sent to the leaders of friendly countries including Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Qatar, Oman, Malaysia, Morocco, Nepal, Singapore, Spain, UK, and Italy,” the sources claimed.
Turkish Airlines, Qatar Airways and Emirates Airlines have been directed to provide for the disbursement of mangoes in July and August. The letter also called for the PIA’s schedule for July and August.
A total of 4,810 kg of mangoes will be delivered to the presidents of 17 countries. The letter also directed the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) to pay special cargo and other services for delivery of mangoes, the TV channel said.
