By-polls in Punjab: Nomination papers filing process starts

The process of filing nomination papers for the election of the Punjab Assembly began on Sunday.
According to the 24News HD TV channel, candidates have till Tuesday, March 14 to submit their nomination papers to the Returning Officers.
The first list of names of the nominated candidates will be published on Wednesday, while nomination papers will be scrutinised until the 22nd of this month.
Appeals against the rejection or acceptance of nomination papers may be filed until the 27th of this month.
The Appellate Tribunal will hear appeals until the 3rd of next month, after which a revised list of candidates will be published.
Candidates can withdraw their nomination papers until April 5 and the final revised list of candidates will be released.
Election symbols will be allotted to final candidates on April 6 and polling will be held on April 30.
