Central Ruet-e-Hilal body meets tonight for moon-sighting

The Ministry of Religious Affairs called the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee meeting for sighting Shawal moon for Eidul Fitr on Wednesday (today) night in Islamabad, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

The meeting will be held at the office building of the Ministry of Religious Affairs at Kohsar Building at Pakistan Secretariat. 

The moon-sighting committee meeting is headed by its chairman Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad.

The meeting of the zonal committees will also be held in respective provincial headquarters including Lahore, Karachi, Quetta and Peshawar. 

Religious clerics from all schools of thought would participate in the meeting wherein officials of the Meteorological Department, Ministry of Science and Technology and Sparco would also attend the meeting.

On the other hand, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has decided to register a case against the Eid Moonsighting Committee members for announcing Eid in Waziristan on their own and without the permission of the central moon-sighting committee.
