UMT honours Suhail Warraich with "Professor of Practice" status

School of Media and Communication Studies, UMT has organized a flagship ceremony to confer the "Professor of Practice" to the legendary writer & acclaimed journalist Mr. Suhail Warraich on Friday.

Dean SMCS, Prof. Dr. Anjum Zia humbly welcomed Mr. Suhail Warraich and other honourable guests from the fields of journalism, academia, and literature.

In her introductory note, she welcomed the Dean's, Directors, Senior Management Team of UMT, and dignitaries from other universities and faculty members.

Rector UMT, Dr. Asif Raza welcomed the guests and pays tribute to Mr. Suhail Warraich for becoming a valuable part of UMT. He further shared his vision regarding the basic idea of this special status of Professor of Practice. He congratulated Dean SMCS, her faculty and the students for achieving this milestone. The guests appreciated the initiative of SMCS, UMT.

The esteemed guests include Justice (r) Nasira Javed Iqbal, Mujib ur Rehman Shami, Dr Niaz Ahmad Akhtar, Mr Saleem Bukhari, Mr Salman Ghani, Mr Hafeez Ullah Khan Niazi, Mr Ata ul Haq Qasmi, Mr Ameen Hafiz, Mr Mansoor Malik, Prof. Dr Rubina Zakar, Dr Faiza Latif, Mr Salman Abid, Mr Munir Ahmad Khan, Prof. Dr Saleem Mazhar, Mr Ajmal Jami, Dr Ayesha Ashfaq, Pir Zia ul Haq Naqshbandi, Mr Mubashar Luqman, Mr Azam Chaudhry, Mr Naeem Masood, Mr Muhammad Usman, Mr Navid Nasim, Mr Intikhab Hanif, Dr Safa Ilyas, Syed Kashif Mohsin, Mr Fahad Shahbaz and many others. They not only participated in the ceremony but shared their insightful thoughts about Mr. Suhail Warraich and his extraordinary journey. Mr Ahmad Sohail was the master of the ceremony, whereas Mr Tayyab Farooq Bhatti presented the Professor's Robe to Mr Suhail Warraich.
