A photo of Sword of Honour winner cadet of the 144th PMA Long Course has gone viral on social media where he could be seen kissing the feet of his mother after the passing out parade.
It is the well-known cliché that heaven lies under the mother’s feet and Usman Anwar Baloch approached his heaven after winning the highest honour in the military academy.
BSUO (Battalion Senior Under Officer) Usman Anwar Baloch of the 144th PMA Long Course has been awarded with the coveted Sword of Honour for overall best performance on the occasion of Passing Out Parade on Oct 9, 2021.
Hailing from district Nushki of Balochistan province, one of the most under developed regions of the country, he has become the Pride as the first-ever Baloch to receive the honour.
He belongs to a family which has already sent its sons for the service of the Motherland. His father is a retired Army officer, meanwhile two of his brothers are also wearing Khaki and serving as officers.
The young lad is a graduate of Military College of Sui (MCS), a military boarding school established with an aim to facilitate the unearth the talent of Balochistan and help them enter the national mainstream.
It is indeed a moment of pride for all and especially those who have a similar life story of fighting against the odds and unfavourable circumstances to make a mark in history. Perseverance is all that is required to make it.
