Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI) has submitted a resolution in favour of Palestinians in the Senate, reported 24NewsHD TV channel Wednesday.
The resolution, spearheaded by JUI Central Secretary General Senator Maulana Abdul Ghafoor Haidri, has been formally submitted to the Senate Secretariat.
The resolution underscores the historic campaign by Palestinian Mujahideen, Hamas, in their struggle against what is perceived as tyranny from Israel. Senator Haidri, in expressing the sentiment of the resolution, emphasizes that the Government of Pakistan should unequivocally support the Palestinian people. The resolution calls for an unambiguous stance in favour of Palestinians amidst the ongoing conflict.
Integral to the resolution is a call for the implementation of the United Nations resolutions from 1967. The emphasis on these resolutions seeks to address the root causes of the longstanding conflict and advocate for a just and lasting solution.
Furthermore, the resolution calls for an urgent meeting of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) to rally global support and counter Israeli aggression effectively. The diplomatic urgency is aimed at garnering international attention and fostering collective action against the perceived transgressions.
Senator Haidri, while presenting the resolution, highlighted a crucial perspective stating, "Peace in the Middle East is impossible without recognition of Palestine."
This statement echoes a broader sentiment within the resolution, emphasizing the need for global recognition and acknowledgement of the Palestinian cause for sustainable peace in the region.
