US ambassador to Pakistan Donald Blome, along with members of the ambassadorial staff, on Thursday visited Mohenjodaro, ruins of an ancient civilization, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
He was given a warm reception on arrival. Sindhi Ajrak and a cap were gifted to him.
The US ambassador and members of his delegation watched stupas besides going round different areas of historical interest such as DK Area and Great Bath. They also visited the museum.
Speaking on the occasion, Ambassador Blome said he had heard of these ruins before. “And now after watching them, I am feeling really excited,” he said, added, “Today I have come to know that people of this 5,000-years-old civilization were so advanced even in those times.”
Last year’s floods in Sindh damaged home-based maternity clinics, impacting health support for pregnant women in affected communities. Today, Ambassador Blome announced the hand-over of equipment and kits to establish 100 community midwives birthing stations. pic.twitter.com/PAmZivb1iD
