ECP orders countrywide fresh delimitations of union councils

Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) in a big move on Monday ordered for new delimitations of union councils and union committees of all constituencies across Pakistan.
ECP issued a notification in this regard on Monday, 24NewsHd TV reported.
The top elections conducting body in the country has asked all the District Election Commissioners (DECs) to submit necessary information regarding the constituencies by April 17th.
Earlier, Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) last month expressed serious concern over non-provision of relevant data for the local government elections in Punjab and the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa. ECP asked the chiefs secretaries of the two provinces to provide data to conduct local government elections at earliest.
Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Sikandar Sultan Raja presided the meeting and reviewed the arrangements for LG elections had been taken by the ECP in four provincial governments and the Military Lands and Cantonments (ML&C) Department, according to an ECP statement.
