Lahore Airport’s main runway closed

The main runway of Allama Iqbal International Airport in Lahore has been closed for repairs for more than a year’s time period while secondary runway will be used as an alternative, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Thursday, quoting its sources.
The TV channel reported that the airport's second runway 36L will be used as an alternative.
The Civil Aviation Authority (CCA) had given permission to repair the main runway on the request made by Allama Iqbal International Airport (AIIP) administration, the TV channel reported.
From now onwards, no permission will be granted for landing to long-range and heavy aircraft.
The sources maintained that all airlines have been directed to limit their number of passengers and fuel.
