Special courts to try cases of Benami properties

The Federal Board of Revenue has decided to speed up action against the Benami properties through special courts, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Sources divulged to 24News TV channel on Friday that the government has planned to set up special courts to take action against the Benami properties. These courts will expedite the Benami property cases.
The sources said that the cases of Benami properties of government officials would be sent to the special courts.
A seven-year jail term will be awarded under the Anti-Benami Act.
The sources further informed that the Benami property would be sold at 25 percent of the market rate.
The FBR has warned the business community of doing Benami business.
