Dollars, pounds, rupees showered during wedding ceremony in Daska

Guests who arrived from abroad to attend a wedding ceremony showered large quantity of foreign currency including dollars, pounds, riyals and Pakistani currency when the wedding party arrived in Gujranwala from village Mitranwali of Daska, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Friday.
Sources said that these foreign guests hired a container to help them shower currency notes on guests of the wedding party. These guests also distributed precious clothes among people.
The people who gathered to collect the foreign currency and after some time even the guests of the wedding ceremony tried to catch the currency notes.
Some people also brought a trap to collect the currency notes on the spot.
Earlier on November 3, 2024 in an extravagant reception, foreign currency notes, expensive cellphones and suits were showered on guests during the wedding of a UK-returned man in Sialkot.
In a footage, which went viral on social media platforms, the groom’s friends can be seen tossing the currency notes and mobile phones in the air from the balcony of a building.
The video shows a delighted crowd of guests — including children — trying to catch as many notes as they can.
Meanwhile, costly clothes were also distributed among the guests. When the wedding procession (barat) reached Narowal, currency notes and suits were showered on the guests.
Big wedding ceremonies are common in Pakistan with the events taking place, at times, for an entire week.
