Journalist comes under fire at police picket in Arifwala

Policemen deployed at a checkpoint in Arifwala allegedly opened fire at the president of the local press club when he questioned them about the bribe they were taking from people at the checkpoint.
Staff of the Arifwala Cantonment Police Station was taking bribe from people at the picket when the journalist questioned them. In reaction, the policemen exchanged words with him and opened fire on the journalist, who remained safe in the incident.
Later, local journalists staged a protest against the incident and sought an FIR against the policemen allegedly involved in the incident.
Some people from 81-EB Village near Arifwala were injured a few days ago in the police firing in Arifwala.
