Pakistan Cricket Board Saturday intervened in the ongoing battle of words between two from captains Muhammad Hafeez and Sarfaraz Ahmad and stopped the both to give any statements, reported 24NewsHD TV Channel.
Earlier, tense arguments between the two colleagues and national cricketers have set ablaze the internet with supporters from both sides weighing in their arguments, opinions and comments.
Pakistan's former cricket captain Sarfaraz Ahmed fired shots at all-rounder Mohammad Hafeez after he called Rizwan as the ‘No 1 wicketkeeper-batsman.’
Soon after the reaction by the former captain, social media turned into a war zone between fans of Mohammad Hafeez and Sarfaraz Ahmed with ‘Hafeez’ and ‘Sarfaraz’ also trending on Twitter.
The team management has contacted both players and asked them to stop giving statements. The team management also conveyed the displeasure shown by the PCB’s high-ups with both players over the issue.
Sources said that both players have been asked to stay away from the controversies. The team manager has talked to both the players and cooled them down to douse the fire that has lit the media.
