Fire destroys Gilgit Lunda Bazaar burning down 40 shops

Another Lunda Bazaar was destroyed by a huge fire in Gilgit, reducing to ashes some 40 shops, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Sunday.

The authorities and rescue personnel later succeeded in completely extinguishing the fire erupted in the Lunda Bazaar of Gilgit City that gutted as many as 40 shops containing clothes worth millions.

The local administration announced to compensate the traders after inquiry into the fire incident.

It may be mentioned here that a major fire had also destroyed Lunda Bazaar in Lalamusa on Friday last burning down over 100 shops and more than 200 garments stalls and carts.

According to Rescue officials, the fire engulfed the whole Bazaar in a flash. The shocked shopkeepers said that the loss from the fire run into millions.

It may be mentioned here that the same Lunda Bazaar was destroyed in a fire some time back.

Two weeks ago, a major fire also flattened the Lunda Bazaar of Dinga town in Tehsil Kharian.
