Federal Education Minister Shafqat Mahmood has contracted the coronavirus.
"Unfortunately, I tested positive for the coronavirus," the federal education minister wrote on social networking site Twitter. Corona's symptoms are mild and I feel fine.
He insisted on wearing a mask all the time and following the necessary instructions and hoped that he would recover soon.
The Minister was due to chair a meeting of provincial education ministers earlier in the day to debate the closure of schools amid rising COVID-19 cases, which was postponed.
This is not the first time he has tested positive for coronavirus. He last caught the virus in May 2021.
I have unfortunately tested positive for coronavirus. My symptoms are mild so far and I feel fine. Hopefully with some rest will recover soon. Please continue to take all precautions specially wearing a mask at all times
