Peshawar Zalmi Friday won the toss and elected to field first against Multan Sultans in front of an empty National Stadium in Karachi.
Zalmi are the worst hit team as all key foreign players of the team have left the event over coronavirus and Zalmi entered the match with only Pakistani players. Imam-ul-Haq, Umer-Amin, Adil Amin, Hammad Azam, and M Amir Khan joined the other regulars of the team to take on the tournament toppers.
Multan Sultans have also depleted with the departure of two key players Rilee Rossouw and James Vince and included Ravi Bopara, Imran Tahir and Moeen Ali as foreign players.
Zalmi are currently third on the points table with nine points and needed a win to assure a place in the semi-finals whereas Multan Sultans have already reached the last four of the event.
Meanwhile, the fans have protested against the decision to keep them away from the matches and have demanded to overturn the decision instead of paying back them for their tickets.
