Australia’s batters dominate the second day of Karachi Test

On the second day of the Karachi Test between Pakistan and Australia, Australia Sunday scored 505 runs for the loss of eight wickets, till the end of the day’s play.
Australia started the second day's play with 251 runs with three wickets down. Usman Khawaja of Australia remained a prominent batsman by scoring brilliant 160 runs off 369 balls, while Alex Carey scored 93 to help Australia cross the 500-run mark.
Lower order batters of the Kangaroos, tested the Pakistani bowlers, as wicket-keeper Alex Carey and Mitchell Starc, went on to form a solid partnership, teasing the home side.
Earlier, thanks to Usman Khawaja for setting the foundation for visitors by scoring quality hundred, until he was outplayed by the off-spinner Sajid Khan. Steve Smith scored 72 (214) and Nathan Lyon 38 (62).
From Pakistan’s bowling attack, Faheem Ashraf and Sajid Khan bagged two wickets, each. Hassan Ali, Nauman Ali and Babar Azam took one wicket, apiece.
Mitchell Starc (28) and skipper Pat Cummins (0) will tomorrow resume Australia’s innings.
