Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah refused to appear before sugar inquiry commission.

Though a letter to FIA on Wednesday, Advocate General Sindh opined that according to the TORs the commission could not summon Sindh chief minister. The AGP asked the FIA to withdraw the summons.

The sugar inquiry commission had summoned the Sindh chief minister.

Earlier today, Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar appeared before the sugar inquiry commission and answered the queries of the seven-member commission. The Punjab chief minister was summoned in connection with granting Rs3 billion subsidy to 11 sugar mills.

Federal Minister for Planning Asad Umar and PML-N leader Shahid Khaqan Abbasi also appeared before the commission.
