Bilawal wants judicial reforms, political reconciliation

PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has stressed the need for judicial reforms in the country as the apex court itself admitted in the Bhutto reference case that courts can commit mistakes, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

Addressing a seminar “Bhutto Reference and History” which was arranged by PPP Punjab, Bilawal said that Supreme Court of Pakistan admitted that justice was denied to Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto during his trial.

PPP chairman said in order to bring judicial reforms, it was mandatory to make constitutional amendment. He said the court itself can bring reforms, but the biggest responsibility lies with the parliament.

Bilawal said “if the parliament does not bring judicial reforms, it means we (parliamentarians) have not fulfilled our duties”.

He claimed that said PPP will bring judicial reforms in the country. He said with new judicial reforms, PPP will strengthen judiciary as well as the masses. After new reforms, there will be no judicial murder in future like ZA Bhutto.

Talking about political situation in the country, Bilawal said political reconciliation was must so that parliament can perform its duty as enshrined in law ie, welfare of the people.

PPP chairman said the politics of hate was on the rise. In order to fix uncertainty in the system, PPP was ready to take all possible steps in this regard.

Bilawal opined that if the politicians did not join hands, political and other problems of the country will not be solved. PPP chairman urged all the stake holders to think of Pakistan instead of spreading culture of hatred and abuse. Unless various political parties talk to each other, political and economic issues of the country can not be solved.

Bilawal, while paying homage to the martyred jialas and political workers, said tireless efforts of political workers for democracy will always be remembered.

PPP chairman said PPP was earlier criticized over its ten-point manifesto during election. But after the election, all governments adopted their ten-point manifesto. He said when PPP announced Kisan Card, it was criticized. But now Kisan Card project was being launched in all provinces.
