CJP Justice Yahya Afridi seeks feedback on judicial reforms from intelligentsia, stakeholders

Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Yahya Afridi chaired a meeting on judicial reforms which was attended by the vice chancellors of various universities and the president of the Supreme Court Bar here on Thursday, reported 24NewsHD TV channel. 

According to the official notification of the meeting, CJP briefed the participants about challenges in dispensation of justices in the country. 

On the occasion, Registrar Supreme Court briefed the participants of the meeting about the need of reforms in the justice system. During the meeting, legal expert Sher Shah presented a short-term plan in line with the Chief Justice's reform vision. Matters related to improving the justice system were discussed in detail. 

It was agreed that there was need of reforms in lower as well as apex judiciary. It was also agreed that to bring improvement in the system, all stakeholders, intelligentsia and general public will be consulted on the judicial reforms. 

The Chief Justice appreciated the role of universities for reforms in the justice system. On the occasion, Humayun Zafar presented various plans regarding digital transformation of judicial system. It was agreed that a focal person nominated by the universities will be responsible for coordination between varsities and Supreme Court team.
