The Pakistan Kabaddi Federation General Council met with acting Governor Parvez Elahi in the chair, the 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Wednesday.

The federation's polls were held and Ch Shafay Hussain again become the federation president as he was elected unopposed. The elections were held under the supervision of Dr Abbas, Vice President, International Kabaddi Federation.

Speaking on the occasion, Parvez Elahi said the Punjab CM should give the honorary cheque to the team as he promised. He heaped praise on Ch Shujaat Hussain for playing a pivotal role in promoting Kabaddi in Pakistan.

The acting governor said Ch Shafay hosted the Kabaddi World Cup in Pakistan and clinching a victory. The Pakistan Kabaddi Federation was founded by Ch Zahoor Elahi in 1964, he said, adding that the role of Shafay Hussain in the success of the Kabaddi Federation is commendable.

Shafay announced programme is being planned for promotion of Kabaddi and tournaments will also be organised in Gwadar and the Chinese team will also be invited. 

Parvez Elahi said this game is the identity of Pakistani and a favourite game of the youth. He said Ch Shujaat Hussain has played important role in the promotion of Kabaddi in Pakistan.

Parvez said the role of Shafay in the success of the Kabaddi Federation is appreciable. He said such games will not be allowed to diminish.

Law Minister Basharat Raja, PKF Secretary-General Muhammad Sarwar Rana and officials concerned join the meeting.
