Sale of locally manufactured cars drops in August

Sales of locally manufactured cars dropped by 13 per cent in the country in August, 2021, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Monday.
According to the statistics released by Pakistan Automotive Manufacturers Association, marked reduction was noticed in the sales of cars manufactured by Pak Suzuki and Indus Motors.
The stats show that total 21, 751 locally manufactured cars were sold in the month under review while the figures stood at 24, 918 in the preceding month of July.
Despite 21 per cent reduction in the sales of Pak Suzuki cars, still 5, 000 units of Suzuki Alto were sold out in August.
Similarly, the sales of cars manufactured by Indus Motors came down by 16 per cent in the preceding month.
Honda Atlas, however, registered 40 per cent increase in its sales as the company sold out 3, 230 cars in August.
