The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Wednesday suspended the notification of the termination of Drug Regulatory Authority of Pakistan (DRAP) Chairman Sheikh Akhtar Hussain, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Giving an order on the petition filed by Sheikh Akhtar Hussain, Justice Babar Sattar also blocked the notification of the appointment of new head of the drug regulatory authority until the next hearing.
However, the court allowed the Ministry of Health to continue receiving applications for the post.
The IHC also asked the ministry officials to bring with them summary of the termination of services of DRAP chairman on the next hearing.
The court also directed them to submit copy of the decision taken to dismiss Sheikh Akhtar Hussain.
The court gave two weeks to the respondents to submit their replies in writing.
