Seven hunters have tried to slaughter a female deer after hunting her down from wildlife sanctuary in Kot Addu, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Friday.

According to District Officer of Wildlife Department Abdur Razzaq, an injured cub has been rescued from the hunters and shifted to Dera Ghazi Khan Zoo for treatment.

He said that a complaint has been registered in Saddar Police Station Kot Addo against seven poachers.

On the other hand, Sindhu Bachao Tarla, a community organization working for the protection of wildlife, has denied the Wildlife Department’s claim and alleged that the poachers escaped with the female deer and her cubs.

The general secretary of the organization Khadim Hussain said that the mother deer was hiding with her two cubs in a crop near the wildlife sanctuary.

A deer's leg was amputated after being struck by a thresher machine during harvesting.

He further alleged that the crop’s owners took the female deer and the other cubs alive and escaped.

The organization has demanded that the deer and her cubs should be recovered.
