LHC grants protective bail to Imran in provocative remarks case

The Lahore High Court has granted protective bail to former prime minister and PTI Chairman Imran Khan till April 26 in a case registered against him at Ramna police station in Islamabad over his remarks against the officers of sensitive institutions, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Friday.
LHC Justice Ali Baqar Najfi heard the petition on Friday.
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairman Imran Khan appeared in person before the court to secure his bail.
Earlier, Imran filed a petition in the Lahore High Court seeking protective bail. The court fixed the case hearing for today.
According to petition, a case was registered against Imran Khan at Ramna police station on April 4 last year. In the case, the provisions of threat and inciting hatred against the Pakistan Army have been included.
Imran’s lawyer told the court that his client wants to surrender before the concerned court. But he is afraid that the police will arrest him. The court is requested to grant the PTI chief protective bail until after Eid so that he could before the concerned court, the lawyer pleaded.
When the judge granted Imran protective bail till April 26, the PTI chief left the court.
