Cricketer Aroob Shah gets university scholarship

Sir Syed University of Engineering and Technology took a major initiative to encourage less privileged cricketer and granted scholarship to Pakistan’s youngest cricketer Syeda Aroob Shah enabling her to complete her four-year study, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Wednesday.
Aroob Shah is 18-year-old and is the captain of the national under-19 cricket team. She has represented Pakistan in five T20s and two ODIs.
The national cricketer met with university Chancellor Javed Anwar, Vice Chancellor Professor Wali Uddin and Registrar Syed Sarfraz Ali (rtd) at the university.
The Chancellor of the university Javed Anwar said during the meeting that education is incomplete without sports. Sports are prioritized in the university and scholarships are also a link in this chain.
“We welcome Aroob Shah at our university and that we are admitting players in accordance with the policy,” as per Vice Chancellor Professor Wali Uddin.
The Sir Syed University’s door, according tom the registrar, are always open to players.
Aroob Shah expressed her delight at receiving the scholarship.
It merits here to mention that Aroob Shah will lead the Pakistan in the Under-19 Women’s World Cup that is to be held in South Africa next year.
