Polio virus found in in five districts

The Health Ministry Wednesday confirmed the presence of poliovirus in environmental samples from five districts of the country, the 24NewsHD TV channel reported.
The report stated that the virus was found in two samples of sewerage water collected from Quetta.
Polio virus was also found in samples collected from Malir Karachi, Peshawar, Hub and Tank.
The Health Ministry representatives said that the surveillance system of the polio program is very strong and the government is ensuring effective measures to eradicate polio.
It was stated that a strategy has been formulated in high-risk areas of polio involving all the concerned organizations.
The report directed parents to get their children vaccinated during every polio campaign.
