Despite a significant drop in pollution levels in Lahore over the last couple of weeks, the Punjab capital was still on the second position on the list of the world’s most polluted cities on Saturday as the air quality index in the city was recorded at 216, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
On the other hand, the weather is turning chillier in the city with each passing day as cold winds are keeping the temperatures below the average.
The AQI over the CERPC was recorded at 334.
Similarly, it was 285 over Askari-10, 265 over Phase-8 of the DHA, and 264 over the US consulate.
The Met Office said that the maximum temperature in the city would be recorded at 10 degrees Celsius while it would remain six degrees Celsius on the minimum side.
It also forecast cold and dry weather for the city.
Cold, dry weather predicted for large swathes of country
On the other hand, the Met Office said that the weather would remain dry and cold in most parts of the country during the next 24 hours.
It further said that it would be bitterly cold in the northern areas of the country, with temperatures remaining below zero in most places.
