At a time when the government says it cannot provide relief to the people because it is short of cash, Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar has decided to renovate his office, housed in Civil Secretariat, at the cost of Rs49 million, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Friday.

The documents, which the channel obtained, tell that not only the CM’s office would be renovated but also the offices of the staff working under him.

Under the project, Punjab chief executive’s office will have new air-conditioners and new carpets.

Similarly, the entire structure will be painted afresh and historical pictures as well as the portraits of famous personalities will be hung on the walls.

Sources in the Punjab revenue department said that the department had received a request for the release of funds from the provincial communication and construction department for the purpose.

They further said that the summary had already been sent to the Standing Cabinet Committee on Finance for the release of a supplementary grant.
