Pakistan reports 71st polio case of 2024 amid rising concerns

The continuous increase in polio cases in Pakistan has raised alarms as the 71st case of 2024 has been reported.
A child from Jacobabad district in Sindh was diagnosed with the virus after showing symptoms on December 27, officials confirmed.
Jacobabad has reported five polio cases this year, contributing to the 21 cases in Sindh.
Balochistan remains the hardest-hit region with 27 cases, followed by 21 cases in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Punjab and Islamabad have reported one case each, highlighting the nationwide challenge in combating the disease.
