Police in Pathankot, a town adjacent to Baseerpur in district Okara, Wednesday recovered a married woman who had been chained by her husband, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

It has emerged that despite the fact that Sameera Bibi had filed a petition in the court for the revocation of her Nikah (marriage), her husband locked her up in a room in chains.

When police arrived at her house after having been informed by the woman on 15, Zulqarnain, her husband, fled from the spot.

The woman requested the police to shift her to Darul Aman.
