NBP wins terror-financing case in New York’s Federal Court

National Bank of Pakistan has won the lawsuit related to the terror financing in the Federal Court of New York, 24News HD TV Channel reported on Tuesday.
According to the sources in the Office of the Attorney General of Pakistan, the National Bank of Pakistan (NBP) was accused of providing financial support for terrorism in the said case.
The National Bank was also accused of transferring money to Afghanistan through the bank, which was used in an attack on a United States base.
As per the sources, in case of losing the lawsuit in the US court, Pakistan would have faced a fine of billions of dollars and a strong reaction from the Finance Action Task Force (FATF).
The sources said that NBP has saved now from bankruptcy after winning the case, adding that the Pakistani legal team also had the full support of NBP President Arif Usmani.
