Former cricketer Imran Nazir comes on radar of Excise and Taxation Dpartment

The former national cricketer Imran Nazir Tuesday came on the radar of a special campaign launched by the Punjab Excise and Taxation Department against the defaulters of vehicle token taxes, reported the 24NewsHD TV channel.
The officials stopped a car on the canal road in a general hold-up and found the vehicle’s owner did not pay the token for the last year.
Later, the driver introduced himself to the officials and also paid a token tax amount of about Rs 13,000 through an online facility.
On the occasion, the former opener Imran Nazir also expressed his apology and appealed to the other people to pay vehicle token taxes regularly in order to avoid any kind of inconvenience.
The department has launched a campaign for the submission of token taxes on vehicles with the aim of enabling citizens to pay token taxes on time.
Awareness notices are also being put up in parking lots of markets and plazas across the city whereas the public is also being informed of action against them if they fail to pay the token tax.
