What could be termed an important development in investigation into cases against PTI Chairman Imran Khan, Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah has held a meeting with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif at which he has briefed him about the current status of these cases, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Tuesday.
Sources told 24News TV channel that Imran, during questioning by police’s joint investigation team (JIT), had confessed to have made controversial statements against the army chief and other senior Pakistan Army officials.
Briefing PM Shehbaz about probe in the case no 255/23 registered at Ramna police station of Islamabad, the minister said that the PTI chairman not only admitted that he had made these statements but also admitted that these were all false. “Imran also signed the paper on which he gave answers to the JIT’s questions in writing,” Sanaullah informed.
The minister told the prime minister that the confessions made by the PTI chairman were now a legal document and an irrefutable evidence.
