Foreign Minister Fawad Chaudhry Monday said during a press conference in Islamabad on Monday that the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) core committee reposed full confidence in the leadership of Prime Minister Imran Khan, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
The information minister claimed that Pakistan’s foreign policy was completely independent only due to the effective measures ensured by the PTI government.
He also criticised the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) for spending billions of rupees on the long march led by Bilawal to Islamabad. “Only PTI is the federal party as it has organised successful public meetings across the country,” he added.
He also criticised the leaders of the opposition parties, saying that Nawaz Sharif, Asif Zardari, Maulana Fazlur Rehman were the rejected politicians. “Attempts are being made to buy our parliamentarians,” he alleged.
The information minister claimed that the PTI government introduced reforms over the past three-and-a-half years which caused the country to experience an industrial revolution. “Before the PTI government, the textile sector of Pakistan was lying closed. Today, the textile exports of Pakistan are record high,” he claimed.
Throwing light on the PTI government’s initiatives in the health sector, the information minister said that the government introduced a historic “Qaumi Sehat Card” initiative to provide free health facilities to the people of Pakistan.
“Today, houses are being built in Pakistan. Dams are being constructed. Effective measures to tackle climate change are also underway. Apart from that, today the citizen of Pakistan is free in true sense,” he said.
“Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah fought against the imperialist powers in British India. Imran Khan is following in the footsteps of Quaid-e-Azam as he is also fighting for the respect and honour of the green passport,” he added.
“We are also fighting against those whose money is in foreign banks,” he stated and added that the opposition was panicked as it feared freezing of their assets.
“Today, overseas Pakistanis from all over the world are here for a convention, and they will tell you that Pakistan is now seen in the world as a country with independent foreign policy. Today, Pakistan is not seen as a member of any bloc. No one dares dictate Pakistan in foreign policy matters,” he maintained.
“It is only due to the foreign policy of Prime Minister Imran Khan that today Pakistanis can proudly say we are free in our decisions,” he stated.
“Of what use would the freedom be if we cannot take our own decisions?” he pointed out.
“It has been the policy of the PTI government since day one that the foreign policy of Pakistan will be independent and no compromise will be made on that,” he maintained.
Fawad Chaudhry said that a meeting of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) was going to be held in Pakistan. “The foreign ministers of 47 Muslim countries have confirmed their participation in the meeting,” he added.
“I would like to thank Nawaz Sharif, Asif Ali Zardari, and Maulana Fazlur Rehman for bringing the no-confidence motion. We had become lackluster for some time. The opposition has awakened a sleeping lion by bringing the no-confidence motion as the PTI worker has now become fully active,” he said.
“I challenge the leaders of the opposition parties to organise a public meeting one-third to the public gathering addressed by Imran Khan. You will then know your status and popularity in public,” he added.
He also said that the ‘gang of three’ would meet failure as they would not be able to blackmail Imran Khan.
The information minister said that Prime Minister Imran Khan considered Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain his brother. “The Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) has always supported us. All allies will be stand by us,” he asserted.
“We have the government, politics and the future,” claimed the information minister.
